Elite Roofing has a 13-year history of supporting our troops in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). Our troops and their families make unique sacrifices for all Canadians, and our company shows its appreciation by donating to Support Our Troops. As in past years, our gift was directed to the organization’s National Scholarship Program, helping military families meet their educational needs.
Support our Troops empowers resilient military families
Established in 2007, Support Our Troops provides grants and programs to help members of the CAF, veterans, and their families navigate the extraordinary challenges of military life, including:
- Absences: Family members can experience challenges when a loved one is absent.
- Relocation: Frequent moves impact family stability and income (spousal employment, healthcare, child care, education, and more.
- Transitions: Illness, injury, death, or transitioning from military to civilian life are instances where family resilience can be impacted.
The organization encourages Canadians to show their appreciation and support to our members in uniform by attending community events, fundraising and donating. The program operates within Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services [“CFMWS”].
From making a cash donation or raising funds by organizing your own fundraiser, there are many ways Canadians can support our serving members and veterans. Donations ensure that members and their families receive the help they need in response to immediate and unforeseen circumstances as a result of their military service.
Support Our Troops and the National Scholarship Program
Since 2015, the National Scholarship Program has increased the opportunities for military spouses and dependents to achieve their post-secondary educational goals. Due to the unique circumstances of military life, funds for pursuing post-secondary education are a significant barrier for many Canadian Armed Forces [CAF] families. The National Scholarship Program works to remove some of those barriers.
The impact of our Elite’s Support Our Troops donation
In 2023-2024, the National Scholarship Program used donations to fund 96 scholarships, with total disbursements totaling $236,295. Elite Roofing’s gift provided scholarships to five dependents from military families. These students’ studies included:
- Master of Social Work, University of Windsor
- Doctor of Pharmacy, University of Toronto
- Bachelor of Science, University of Windsor
- Bachelor of Engineering, McMaster University
- Bachelor of Arts and Science, Queen’s University

Elite Roofing gives back to our community in many ways
Our company’s leadership places a high priority on charitable giving, both for Support Our Troops Canada and our local community. We view corporate responsibility as an essential part of Elite’s core values. The opportunity to “give back” is vital to our ability to connect with our community, on both a local and national level.
In addition to donations to programs like the National Scholarship Program, we contribute financially and volunteer at several local food banks, including Second Harvest rescuing and redistributing food throughout Canada, and Vaughan Food Bank, serving the needy residents of Vaughan.
This year has been challenging for so many families and individuals in the Greater Toronto area and throughout Canada. We aim to do our part to address basic needs such as food, housing, and helping people create the futures they strive for, such as education. We at Elite are proud of our commitment to our neighbors in Toronto and beyond. This includes providing high-quality roofing services for our commercial roofing clients.
